Thread for todays game.

Do you expect any changes from Friday? Including Ed Barnard would strenghten the team a lot.

Not sure on Barnard, bowling isn't an option in T20 and he has gone 0, 0, 12 on his last 3 T20 innings opening the batting. Having said that it wouldn't be ridiculous to see him back in.

I'd imagine if their all fit and well it will be the same side that we had Friday.

I mean Garton probably had the worst T20 game of all time from anybody anywhere but he shouldn't get dropped. 2-0-49-0, run out the top scorer off yer first ball faced, then get clean bowled on the yer second ball faced! Incredible really.

Maybe a seamer for a spinner?

Interesting one today though, Derbyshire have turned us over the last 3 occasions we've played them at Edgbaston. Bit of a bogey side.

Derby won the toss and bowl.

Miles in for Yates.

198/2 a decent total after a slowish start. Good to see Mo get his first 50 as a bear but Mousley and Hain show their class again.
Probably a wise decision to play the extra seamer.

A well executed victory. Briggs once again our talisman with the ball.

Hopefully we’ll have Gleeson back for the quarters.

Are we guaranteed a home tie? I think we are.

Now that's better. We didn't get dragged inti mediocrity like we often do when facing unfancied sides (Yes. Everyone has the right to win games) but we got a good score on the board once Moeen got stuck into the bowling and stopped being 'Subdued Moeen' as one bloke said to me on Friday. Nice to see someone get after Patel instead of treating him with too much respect and letting him bowl his 4 overs for 24-25 runs. Great pacing at the end from Hain and Mousley and the spinners did their usual thing. Interesting to see Waite, Cobb and Brookes get combined figures of 9.5-0-117-4 today, that is what we should have been doing on Friday.

Yes, only Lancashire can overhaul our points total and the worst we can do is finish 2nd which means we get a home tie. Not that it makes much difference in T20. Always believe what Neil Carter said, if you finish top, you should get a place automatically in finals day, much the same as in the 50 over competition.

Once again young Mousley batted and bowled well, i think he has been excellent this season in T20. Briggs too has been very good, and pleased to see Lintott getting wickets as well.

Mousley is having a tremendous Blast campaign. What a brave player, very unselfish.

But Northants can equal our points 🍹

Lancs and Northants play each other in their final game so they can't both catch us.

Crazy that some people were calling for Mousley to be dropped earlier in the tournament!

Some players just need backing through thick and thin, he's one of them.

Mousley has had a lot to learn in the last few years. Last year was focusing on white ball bowling, this year red ball batting. He's clearly settled on his role now and starting to get some results. He's still young and hope he can keep going as a multiformat cricketer.

Of wider interest. Is anyone looking at the South group with anticipation? Could easily be Essex at home in the quarters. Let's see how far we've come from last year...

Really need the rules to be changed Group winners need to go straight through to finals day. We always throw in one of our worst performances in the quarter finals. I just hope that this year we actually take advantage of a home tie and ensure that the pitch and pitch position suits our strengths.

That last line sums it up for me. Other counties would do it.
