I thought (Barnt Greenie!) Lamb looked back to his old self. He was just getting in form again last season until he picked up an injury. He really is a talent. I'd love to see him go in regularly at 3, ahead of Hain - he certainly has the skill and application, but the luck hasn't been with him at times.

He looked OK. Concern is that he gets out like that loads.

Like I said about Henry B, I think the jury is still out on Yates. He clearly has ability, but lacks that bit of concentration needed by an opener. I'd like to see him go down the order - perhaps 5 (if Lamb is 3 and Hain, 4) - though he'd be competing with a few for that - notably Dan Mousley, who (I think) has all the gifts to be a star of the future (and not just as a batsman, as shown in his bowling at the end of the Durham innings).

I would definitely say the other batsmen looked like they hit the ball cleaner, timed it better.
The other thing is it was a very slow and low pitch, and everyone else got the pace of it quite well and worked on rotating the strike, whereas Yates seemed to get stuck.
Just based on the types of batsmen we have rather than scores today. You’d think Yates would be the one to miss out for Malan.

I seem to remember last year in the pre season friendly against Worcestershire Yates played well but seemed to struggle to score after that. It is early in his career and I just hope he gets time to work out his game and position in the squad.

When Lamb and Hain were batting together it was a good Barnt Green combination, just need to get Ed Pollock in the team too.

As far as I can see, the only omissions from the squads, are the 3 England players, Malan (who I guess hasn't arrived yet ?) and Alex Thomson (is he injured ?).

The interesting name that jumps out to me is Mousley in the majority 2nd team; from last weeks batsmen is he the one that gives way for Malan? OHD and Burgess are there too but I assume because realistically Robinson already knows they’re going to be in that first team, injuries aside, come the 8th.

Hopefully some of the youngsters can make an impression tomorrow; Balaji, Chakrapani, Bethell, Furrer, Kelley and Johal in particular.

Lovely delivery from Bres to get Slater caught behind. He's still a class act.

And now a very smart catch by Rob Yates off Norwell to get rid of Hameed.

The bowling has been pretty tight today and there's been more movement on offer than was the case the other day but it has to be said most of the Notts batting has been dreadful.

Good to see that Ed Pollock scored 81 not out in the other match, from only 88 balls!

What a glorious couple of days to have watched some cricket....oh well. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that.

Does anyone know what happened in the second match today? Hoping some runs for Mousley and Burgess and some wickets for OHD.

That’s from Tuesday unfortunately. They played today as well according to OHD. So was wondering who did well.

Squad for the Leeds/Bradford game doesn't include either Norwell or Stone. Are they injured does anyone know?

I wonder if it’s a case of looking after them both. As a pair they’re pretty injury prone.
Interesting it’s Hose that drops out for Sibley. I’m guessing that leaves, a competition between Yates and Mousley for who stays when Malan arrives.
