Davies is a good one day captain only in my opinion.

OK, we'll get rid of the batters, bowlers and coaching staff. Can the stewards stay or do they need to go too? And I've just had a word with the cleaning lady who's a bit worried about losing her job in the big clear out.

Little bit rude that. The poster was just giving an observation.

No, it was a lot rude and I apologise.

We should be doing better than this with the players that we have. We cant bowl teams out twice and we cant build innings totals because key batsmen keep getting out cheaply.........despite the fact that we have a deep looking batting line up.

A few of us said last season that there is something wrong and that Robinson should have been dispensed with along with the other coaches. Our bowling attack is toothless once the new ball has lost its shine. Miles is not good enough, Norwell not fit enough.

How is it that teams like Hampshire & Essex keep rolling out their bowlers season after season and get performances from them whilst ours break down and underperform?

We need a new leader with fresh impetus who demands and gets better performances from the players, we also need to review our player recruitment which is just not good enough. Better standards need setting all round.

To be fair, we had a pretty good red ball season last year, finishing fourth, 37 points off the top. As I recall we were actually in the title race until the last game or two.

I do agree that the bowling is more of a concern this season though. There’s only so many injuries that you can have before you begin to wonder how many of them are bad luck and how many are poor fitness or recruitment.

I’m not quite giving up on this season just yet though as we still have to play some of the weaker teams. We’ve got Somerset twice, Kent, Worcestershire and Notts. Let’s see how things play out before making too many drastic changes, but we do need to recruit another workhorse bowler that can be almost guaranteed to go injury free all season.

Why did they run two on the first ball of that over?

I thought Miles had edged that one, given not out but now he's been clean bowled. Up to you OHD!

A draw, well played Sam Hain, again.

Wonderful innings by Sam Hain. Hope his injured hand isn’t too bad.

Sam Hain is a class act, and well played Michael Burgess too. Well done to OHD as well for seeing out 11 balls at the end. Lucky to get a draw though, we were outplayed by Hants for most of the match.

Backs against the wall, a bit of bastard and fight needed, those 2 would be my pick to battle it out every time.
They’re the 2 that seem to have the bottle for the fight.
Fantastic innings by Hain, similarly for Burgess, even better when you consider he had to spend 2 hot days keeping as well.

Brilliant from Hain, didn't go today but still happy. BUT, a few of us did mention the declaration which we said was a strange one considering the lead. Why go on to almost a 500 lead. Sorry Mr Vince but a few of your team mates and a fan or two, might wonder why 108 overs when realistically 450-460 in 120+ might have been better. Not hindsight, I did say a few things about the lateness of the declaration yesterday but hey! We got a draw when it looked like a loss just after lunch.

I wonder what team we will put out on Sunday at Taunton? I don't think that the batting line up 1-7 will change, although if Yates is fit he may come back into the side. Will Woakes be able to get through another match, he bowled 34 overs against Hampshire. Miles is likely to be replaced, Booth or Norwell to come in? Maybe both if Woakes is rested? Will Hassan Ali be fit to play, if so he might come into the equation.

Possible team: Rhodes/Yates, Davies, Mousley, Hain, Bernard, Bethell, Burgess, Briggs, OHD, Woakes/Booth/Norwell/Ali

Also what is the current status of Rushworth?

Seeing how battered Sam was, with hand and rib injuries, I'd be surprised if he's fit to play on Sunday.

I'd suggest Booth for Miles would be a positive change.

Will Yates be fit?

Just to add that Sam Hain showed as lot of character, as well as ability, in his innings today. That was his best performance in what is a tough year for him. Hopefully he can take confidence and pleasure from today and move forwards to more success and happiness.
