All out. Tricky little period coming up for us now, expect Glamorgan to come in hard sensing an opportunity.

One of them days when yer getting frostbite and sunburn, crazy cold at times even though the sun shone most of the day.

An absorbing days cricket and a difficult one to sum up. No doubt about it those first 10 overs which each new ball, it went everywhere. What OHD and Bamber did with the 2nd new ball they should have done with the first - 4 wickets. Thought Kellaway and Carlson rode their luck early on but you need a bit of that with the new ball doing so much. Once that initial shine come off it did look much easier though. Kellaway looked excellent, just very uncomplicated and played very straight, if it was full he drove straight back past the bowler every single time, he didnt miss.

Gilchrist, he beat the bat loads, if Yates holds that chance Carlson offered (on 60 odd) after lunch of his bowling who knows. I thought he was a tad unlucky. One thing thats clear with him though, every spell he bowls he sends down an over which goes for about 12 and just lifts all the pressure. He poses threat, it's just a case of whether he can bowl well enough for long enough to be a heavy enough wicket taker to become a regular in our 4day side. He'd bowl one over where he'd bowl 3 snorters then come back the next and bowl 3 long hops.

Interesting to see how we go when we bat, the overheads were perfect today, seems the clouds are rolling in tomorrow however. The ball went passed the edge loads today, there's a bit in this pitch still. That little partnership between Norton and Crane has probably just put Glamorgan in front.

We've a bit of a longer tail than we're used to with Bamber, OHD and Gilchrist, may well need a tune out of Thompson at 8. Incredibly small boundary Hollies side.

Yes, fairly strong Lions squad too.

Will miss the first 4 Blast matches.

Has signed for RCB for the remainder of the IPL, will miss the beginning of our Blast campaign.

We go again...

No more County Championship at Edgbaston til August 20th after this game...

If RCB make the final he'll play that then line up for England in the 1st Test four days later.

Has signed for Kent on all format loan deal until July 19th.

Im in Dublin that weekend, gutted as its a great place to watch cricket. Hope you get to go mate.

That's a blow

Could Zak Crawley be a long term solution for us at the top of the order?

Seems to have lost his way at Kent after England and might want a change of scenery and/or division one cricket. That would solve the Davies problem and allow him to bat lower down the order.

Banter?

Some of the posts from the bedwetters on here on day 1 and early day 2 are hilarious!

The 3rd innings of matches has felt like our achilles heel for a while...until now.

Incredible win, feels like ages since we've done someone like that. We just didnt have this sort of fight or ability to comeback under Robinson. Yorkshire are no mugs they beat Somerset at Taunton a week ago remember. 2 result wickets at Edgbaston and we've won both games.

They'll be some bumps along the way but the signs are there. Progress.

Slight hint of uneven. Very difficult to say though as Yorkshire went very much into defence mode and then subsequently just went through the motions . Not a lot of pace in it.

Always a bit quieter on here after we've done well...

Well, who saw that coming, I said to the staff on the gates, "We don't want to see these 2 together all morning and some of the afternoon". Who would have thought they would both get bowled. Brook is always a candidate as he plays too many shots and shuffles about at the crease. One of the best days we have seen for a while. The bowling was great and then a good opening partnership, felt sorry for Davies as he weathered the storm, didn't feel the need to bash his way out of trouble and just stuck there until he got one that rose at him on a length. Hain as usual was patient but unfortunately Dan gave it away when in control and Yates was really looking good. Strange tactics from Yorkshire near the end, bringing on Brook and Bess with the field crowded in and only 2 outfielders.

Couldn't understand why they left Brook on after White got Yates out. They essentially let Hain play himself in against him.

Yeah why didnt get a 7 get indicated there? Couldn't understand that.

Excellent day for us and a terrific fight back to get us in a strong position. Yorkshire came at us very hard after lunch, Jack White is an excellent bowler, but Yates, who's timing was exemplary, and Davies (welcome little knock) weathered the storm brillaintly and you saw Yorkshire just wilt a little as the session went on. Logan van Beek must be worst performing bowler on the circuit at the moment so Dan Mousley will be kicking himself to get out to him after doing so much hard work. He started nicely but then lost his way a little in the 20's before going back up a gear once he got to 35 or so. He looked good technically. A ton looked certain, the silence in the ground when he got out was deafening.

Thought we played the scheduled longer evening session (40 overs) perfectly, the first 20 overs were always going to be the bowlers before we could cash in against the older ball and a tired attack. Hain marshalled this showing superb strike rotation.

Good crowd these first 2 days.

Terrific session, superb batting.

Are we really having a shocker this season up to today? I don't think we are?

Not having any indication that we are. Winning draws against the top two from last season, a win against Essex and a close loss to Sussex. We're playing a lot of good cricket and, as usual, agenda is crowding people's views of the season. OHD was miles off it last season and we're now reaping the reward of good management this season, allowing him to play cricket and remain in rhythm on loan.

We're in a very good spot, playing in a difficult match on a result wicket against a decent quality seam attack bowling well. We've just bowled them out for the same as what we made. Context is so important when discussing players.

The stuff on Malik's average being less than that of Smith's is a one-sided argument. He's played on two result wickets against Essex and in this match. I'd argue he's in the side as he has more stickability than Smith who tends to be a freer, more languidly styled late innings scorer. Smith has played on flatter pitches. The decision making is sound, the fact its not bearing result isn't hugely surprising when taking into account the context.

Finally a balanced and sensible post, fair play.

Massive innings for Davies coming up here, needs a few...
