It all comes down to communication, if the club or the ECB made a proper announcement with even the briefest of explanations then a lot of this negativity would disappear.

Important morning session today, take a couple of quick wickets and we sieze the initiative. Conditions would suggest a good time to bowl.

Our overseas players have not exactly fired for us this season have they. I know there is still time for Malan but they have been quite the disappointment so far.

The batting has been very timid, definitely a line up devoid of confidence.

I think that's right but as overseas players go they're not exactly household names. My first reaction to Vihari and, in particular, Malan was 'Who?'

Today has been very much our season summed up. Failure to finish sides off, and letting them get 50-100 too many. Alongside poor top order batting not setting a platform or taking advantage of the situation.
250 target you’ve got to think is the minimum. 300-320 would have been the plan.

I think 300 is still a good possibility.

Good recovery from Burgess, well supported from Briggs.

Just personal opinion from finally getting to the ground today, but I’ve never seen a side get so excited as Notts do, for balls that were not even remotely close to being a chance or appeal worthy. They had hands on heads and gave it oohs and ahhs almost got every ball, even for shots that Rhodes and Burgess had very comfortably hit to the boundary.

Yes I thought that as well, a very vocal side in the field and I agree a bit over the top.

It’s something I’ve seen mentioned on other counties forums and blogs about Notts.

We bowled better today than we did on Day 2. Upped the tempo batting wise before lunch as pitch is easier to bat on than Day 1 (although still not all that easy) but back into our shell's after tea. Couple of good balls from Chappell to get Hain and Rhodes and Lamb got done over by Fletch after treading water for an hour. Great spirit shown from Burgess and Briggs. All results possible. Highly enjoyable contest to follow

Very excitable I'm not that bothered really unless it turns unsavoury. Overall Notts v Warks games over recent seasons have been good contests and played in an excellent spirit. I see no problem with how they were today personally. Actually good to see they enjoy it. I've seen sides over the years a lot worse in terms of vocals. Hants when they had Warne for starters.

A superb day to watch especially as once Bresnan was out, I thought we would be setting 200 and would lose. Great partnership by Burgess and Briggs and tomorrow could be a cracking day. Agree about Notts in the field. Their captain, Mullaney is very mouthy and gives a batman the 'Send-off' off the last ball of an over after being hit for 20+, I have seen him do it at least twice. Fletcher has plenty to say if he is taking wickets but goes hiding if he's wicketless. He likes to think he is popular and a 'Character' but I find him boorish. Amazing how the ball moved when the cloud cover came over, just goes to show that all these know-nothing 'experts' who talk about 'English Greentops', are talking rubbish. The ball did all sorts when it got gloomy overhead and then as soon as the cloud disappeared, we got a different story. Would be nice to get to a 280-300 lead and then we will have an entertaining afternoon - As long as we win.

It didn’t particularly bother me, but it was noticeable that every time they hit a pad they all went up together and there were lots of noises throughout.

I agree it’s better than a team being deathly silent mind.

A proper days cricket though: ups and downs, momentum coming and going, sun and clouds. How I’ve missed it.

He has missed so many games over the years being picked for squads and then not picked in the final 11. His first-class appearances over the last 7-8 years are almost non-existent.

My last post referred to an earlier comment about Woakes not playing in this game.

Steven Mullaney is a Manchester City fan. Let us hope to add misery to his weekend, tomorrow.

Those of us of a certain vintage will remember the same thing being said about Dermot Reeve's Bears mid 90s. I've no problem with it tbh.

Nor me. If we accept Norwell giving Zak Chappell a verbal send off then we have to accept verbals from them.
