Keith Barker on fire again

Looking at the less than quarter full Trent Bridge just shows what utter contempt the ECB has for the counties.

What we need is a proper one day league so fans can follow their counties home and away and a proper one day knockout cup so fans can dream of a trip to Lord's for the final.

This halfway house with silly groups then even sillier play-offs then a random final very few appear to give a monkeys about just so they can shoehorn this format into a three week block is completely ridiculous scheduling

Its absolutely criminal this game isn't played at Lords.

Once again the ODC produced a close finish. I reckon this competition has had much more last ball drama than the 16.4.
It's a shame the competition and the showpiece final is not promoted by the ECB. It is proper cricket and needs to be cherished.

Lords Finals were often the absolute pinnacle of your regular, hard working county cricketers career. A standout highlight. The players love the place. And the spectre of a Domestic One Day Cup final at Lords was always one to be cherished.

Congratulations to Leicestershire today, over the moon for them and their long suffering supporters. Terrific achievement. They seem to have a tremendous team spirit.

An unfancied county winning a trophy, its great that cricket can still be like this unlike other sports.

So pleased for Leicestershire and especially Chris Wright. I always warmed to him as a good sound county pro who gave his all. I never took to Barker, always a bit miserable and never appeared to be a warm person although a terrific bowler. Why we ever let them go is beyond me. What a cracking last over Wright bowled, to give the 19 year-old rookie something to play with in that last over. A terrific team effort seeing as Leicestershire had just 5 bowlers and one of them was limping. One of the best comebacks ever in a final, 89-6 and you still end up winning, a ton at number 8, really! Hope that despite this not being at Lord's, people will talk about it like some of those great finals we saw in the past.

Andy - I presume from your comments you believe the T20 Finals Day should also be held at Lord's. I think it is good the white ball finals are held in the midlands instead of supporters of northern counties always having to make the trip to London.

Anyway at least we agree it is great fo a county like Leicestershire to hold up a trophy. (Many on this forum also enjoy seeing Hants lose for a change!!)

You presume wrong. Presumably from your comments you'd like the Hundred final to be at Edgbaston? However if your happy with the Hundred final being played at Lords and the domestic one day cup final played away from Lords I feel that's a shame but I appreciate your opinion.

Why. Andy, did you have to bring that awful format in to the conversation????? Personally I would like the 16.4 be confined to history. I didn't even know that competition had a final and am amazed it is played at Lords - all about ECB hype-ing up to justify the millions they have thrown at it. Comparing it to the One Day Cup I can understand your point of view regarding where finals are played.

I would love 'The HunDread' to be played on the moon. The dusty surface would help no one but it might mean it would take forever to finish and would stop the rest of this format's competitions from ever starting.

I must admit in my conversations with Andy I was trying to think of a suitable venue for HunDread.16.4 away from Lord's. Paul that is an unbeatable suggestion - if only !!
