Rugby school would need to have seating, toilets, catering and media facilities all hired. Obviously at great expense. The pavillion would, just about, be adequate for players facilities, but it would not provide any facilities whatsoever for spectators
Sadly there is not a ground in Warwickshire that would be viable to use, unless a very large sponsor was willing to cover all of the additional costs in staging the game away from Edgbaston.
Regarding the Brookes catch, there are two possibilities. One is that it was a fair catch, he is a Bear through and through and would never cheat. The other is that his foot was on the rope, he cheated and we always knew that he was a Pear at heart.
There's also the inbetween. His foot was next to the rope but not on it. The blurry footage makes it look like his white boot is touching the rope when his foot might be lifted above the rope at that point.

Well, I think that is my option one. What I do think is that he will know whether or not his foot was on the rope - it's not like it was a white line when he wouldn't be aware of whether he was on or inside the line.

The on field officials having seen the catch live decided it was a fair catch. That is not going to change, the blurry, out of focus image does not provide clear evidence that the umpires made a mistake.

As for out grounds we’ve been through it all and I still think the cynics are talking total drivel. There are several capable of holding games such as today around the County, Especially after seeing inside the dressing room at Neath, it’s just a question of will by WCCC and I am afraid under the current regime that will be lacking,

Absolutely right about the outgrounds. Members seem obsessed with having "facilities" in a swanky pavilion and presumably free tea and coffee. If the club wanted to be inclusive of all cricket fans in Warwickshire they can make it happen.

Watched the catch again as Glamorgan have tweeted 3 angles of it and am more convinced now that this flinch everyone is on about is Ethan hopping or sidestepping over the rope rather than onto it as he releases the ball back into the air very cleverly. An even more skilfull catch than I thought earlier

Was it a catch or was it not. Well all I would say is take a look at the scorecard
I’ve watched the video that Glamorgan tweeted a few times and you definitely can’t say for certain that he was touching the rope. Maybe, just maybe one of his spikes touched it but he wouldn’t have been able to tell that anyway. Calling him a cheat is a bit much.
Quite funny all the Glamorgan supporters replying to the tweet saying that it was clearly six. Even if it was given as six it probably doesn’t change the result of the match as they still would have needed 19 runs with only two wickets left.
If he doesn’t touch the rope then he is levitating because it’s a long time before that foot touches the ground again.
To me the honest answer is he trod on the rope then reacted.
We will be a poorer game if we can’t rely on player honesty. And if we can’t then the correct decision is to give the batsman the benefit of the doubt.
We might well have won anyway. This one leaves a poor taste in the mouth.

He doesn’t levitate. He realises that he’s about to put his foot on the rope, then quickly lifts it up again, which is why his momentum then means he lurches over the boundary (but not before releasing the ball).
The second replay angle shows it best I think. You can see that the toe of his shoe is inside the rope, not on it.

Sure if it had been the other way there'd have been a fuss at the time from certain Bears fans over it but FGS it was fine margins it wasn't like it was clear or obvious at all - which we have seen down Edgbaston from time to time - including players claiming the catch with their leg planted well beyond the rope

Great day at Neath yesterday. I think I saw the future! Ben Kellaway of Glamorgan. He took Worcestershire apart last week and was stunning today with bat and ball. Very impressive for a young lad.
