No Siraj is a massive blow

Hard to see us taking 20 wickets with that attack.

Another brilliant overseas signing 🙈

Siraj missing for "personal" reasons.

Seems yet again the corrupt BCCI have used us to prepare one of their players.

Hopefully the new coaching regime will be more careful when selecting overseas players.

Also, Yates keeps his place when his performances this season do not justify it.

Great to see Jacob Bethell getting a chance.

4th over and 1st wicket down.

Effectively we are playing the game with 10 men.

However, Rob Yates should be congratulated on getting his average up to 12.21 !!!!!

Yates came for a good time, not a long time

Include Davies and we are playing with 9 men.

That was just "wonderful" from Davies, 15 minutes gone and 2 out.

I was wrong, we are effectivly playing with 9.

Starting to worry a bit for Rob Yates now. Even when he's looking good he's still getting out.

Davies, that was just expected. He's absolutely rubbish.

And now the anchors will be dropped, the runs will dry up, we will probably lose wickets and be five down for not many.

I did say that last match in fairness. Utterly useless they have been, the pair of them

Little test here now. Normally when we go into rebuild mode we stay in rebuild mode and just go along at barely 2 an over. Can we get through this session and then push on after lunch and get ahead in the game?

Yates needs a full season in one spot not being messed about and with a bit less pressure He'd probably get that in Div 2 next season aswell.

Ian Bell plundered Div 2 in one of his early seasons either 1999 or 2000 it was probably the making of him

Ian Bell never had a season averaging 12!

Pathetic from Davies, again! How is he playing in every game? Totally useless. To think, in an ideal world, it could've been a bowling attack of Woakes, Stone, Siraj and Norwell.....!

3 down now with Hain gone.

We are up against it here, fortunately Kent are hungover and completely under the cosh against Hampshire.

Very true and I'm not suggesting Yates is on the same page as a generational talent like Bell. However he might have struggled had Warwicks not been placed in Div 2 where they spent a couple of seasons after the split occured at the end of 1998.

Remember Ian Bell was 18 when he became a first team regular, Yates is now 23 so over four years older.

I think he did well last season, and was given a contract extention that, on reflection, was not deserved.

I don't think Bell or Hain were ever allowed a long run of games when they were consistantly underperforming so badly.

An average of 12 for a specialist batsman is never acceptable.

Terrible shot by Rhodes there. Wide garbage and he half chased it.

How frustrating are we? We have just put together a really good few overs, scoring well and looking well set and then we give it up softly.
