Thought they'd never get that total despite the short boundaries. Johal bowled well when he came on 2 wickets in an over got us back in the game but after the rain breaks he had the same treatment Simmons and Henry Brookes had faced. Fielding was a bit sloppy although they had to contend with a wet ball. 3 dropped catches in the deep including 1 very tough chance for the keeper running back towards the boundary plus a couple of misfields being spilled over the ropes for four. 163-3 after 15 overs. Feared Duckworth Lewis would up the target significantly and was quite relieved in the end it was below 180.
Then Bethell got to work and suddenly we were 88-0 off 7 half the runs knocked off with 8 overs to go. He later ran himself out going for a very optimistic second run. Almost a formality from that point, Glamorgan kept going gamely had a drop or two of their own in the deep, but I was particularly impressed with Ethan Brookes innings. Braithwaite and Hose won't be particularly pleased with their dismissals but they were down to needing less than a run a ball by that point.

Well beaten today by a strong Gloucestershire 2nd XI they must have a week off from the Championship this week as had lots of first teamers in there - . Bethell looked class again but wickets falling at other end and getting bogged down so ran down the wicket and was stumped. Braithwaite must've used up all his runs for the week v Ombersley at the weekend, horrible hack again today.

Worth looking at as I think that team is a bowler or two away from being the first choice T20 side ...

Well, even our CC team can do it, batting in white ball. Yates, 102 off 42 balls, Sibley, 33 off 16 and Davies 18 NO off 7 (Rhodes, 9 off, 3).
The bowling figures are pretty good as well - Johal 2 for 28 off 3, Rhodes 2 for 28 off 4, Mousley 1 for 19 off 3. Simmons 1 for 33 off 3 and Garrett 1 for 24 off 3, were the other wicket takers.

A great win, when it looked like we were never going to get near. Mainly down to Ethan Brookes' batting - again (34 NO off 31 balls, going in at 5) - sticking when all around him were losing their heads and seeing us home with 8 balls left ! He has a big future with the bat (and offers useful seam bowling as well) - perhaps a successor to our Captain ?
Bowling highlights - Simmons 2 for 19 off 4 and Johal 1 for 22 off 3. The other wicket taker, Rhodes, was caned a bit (4-0-42-2), as was George Garrett (2-0-30-0). Matt Lamb opened the bowling with his (new) leg spin and kept the runs down reasonably well (3 overs for 22), OHD being the other opener (4 overs for 22). It looks like managament will continue on opening with one spinner in T20 this year.
Batting highlights - Other than EB, indisputably, Matt Lamb (opening) with 50 off 24 balls, but also Manraj (17), who held his nerve with Brookes, to mainly see us home. Yates (18) and the Captain (24) hung around a bit, but the rest (including Dan Mousley) didn't offer much.
Todays team and yesterday afternoons, were clearly run outs for red ball and 50 over match players. The first choice T20 team will almost certainly be yesterday morning 2nd's T20 group - Stirling, Bethell, Davies (to start with at least - with Burgess waiting in the wings), Hain, Hose, Benjamin, Brathwaite, Henry Brookes, Lintott, Briggs & Miles (with Olly Stone or Woakesy coming back when ready).
